LONG ISLAND CITY A man with a large amount of pocket change was arrested last Thursday at the Queensbridge Housing Project, the Queens district attorney's office said.
Marty Downs of Briarwood was allegedly caught entering one of the buildings of the complex without permission, according to a DA spokesman. When housing police arrested him, they allegedly found several rocks of crack cocaine, two pipes filled with the contraband and a switchblade in his pants pocket, the DA said.
The officers also allegedly discovered Ziplock bags in his jacket pockets that contained $15,400 in cash, the DA's spokesman said.
Downs was arraigned May 3 with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal trespass, and was held on $1,500 bail, according to the spokesman.
