SOUTH RICHMOND HILL — Police in the 102nd Precinct arrested a Richmond Hill man on suspicion of drunk driving after they found him passed out at the wheel in the middle of the road, the Queens district attorney's office said.
Sarbjit Singh, 35, was found in his 2002 Chevrolet at the intersection of 101st Avenue and 131st Street at 1:20 a.m. July 9, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Queens DA's office. The vehicle was in gear with the key in the ignition, the complaint said.
When officers began to question him, Singh said, “My friend gave me too many Coronas,” the complaint said. Singh's blood alcohol level was .222 on the intoxilyzer test, the complaint said.
Singh was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, the DA's office said. He was arraigned July 9, the DA's office said. His next court date is Sept. 8, the DA's office said.
