LONG ISLAND CITY — A 24-year-old Long Island City woman was arrested earlier this month after she threatened to throw lye in the face of another woman who was walking toward her apartment building, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Tanisha Johnson, of 40-11 Vernon Blvd. in Long Island City, was arraigned Sept. 5 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Ira Margolis on charges of menacing, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, the DA said.
She will return to court Oct. 14, Brown said.
The defendant approached the 40-year-old victim and said, “Bitch, do you want me to throw this f—ing lye in your face?” according to the criminal complaint. Johnson then allegedly followed the woman to her building, the DA said.
Upon returning home, the victim also found that the front door to her apartment had been damaged and that her apartment smelled like bleach, the DA said.
