EAST ELMHURST — A 57-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run incident Monday when he was run over by a car while attempting to cross the Grand Central Parkway, police said.
Authorities said Telmo Cadme, of 31-32 82nd St., was killed immediately when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle on the Grand Central Parkway near 90th Street shortly after 7 p.m. Monday.
Police said EMS officials responded to the scene in minutes, but pronounced Cadme dead on arrival.
Police said the vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call NYPD's Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
