DOUGLASTON — Police were investigating who stole more than $200,000 in cash from a Marathon Parkway resident Saturday night.
Police said a resident of the 49th Avenue block of Marathon Parkway had more than $200,000, Rolex watches, pearls and other jewelry stolen from his home between 7:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Saturday night.
Police said the unknown perpetrator entered the residence by prying open a rear sliding door before ransacking the home and making off with the valuables. Police said there were no suspects in the case as of Tuesday, but said a neighbor saw a 20−to−25−year−old Hispanic man get out of a tan Lincoln town car and walk to the back of the residence shortly before the burglary took place.
