RICHMOND HILL — A Richmond Hill woman who believed her husband was cheating tried to set his underwear on fire and allegedly hit him with a hammer and stabbed him with a knife last Thursday, a spokeswoman for the Queens district attorney’s office said.
Bhagandai Zohan, 37, of 91−40 121st St., allegedly got into an argument with her husband between 8:35 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. June 4 when she hit him with a hammer, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Queens DA’s office.
Zohan then allegedly grabbed, matched and tried to set her husband’s underwear on fire, the complaint said.
She then allegedly took out a small knife and stabbed her husband in the left forearm and left foot, according to the complaint.
Zohan was arraigned Friday before Queens Criminal Court Judge Gerald Sullivan, who set bail at $1,800 or $750 bond, the spokeswoman said. Her next court date was scheduled for Wednesday.
