Obituary: Martin Tashner, 94

Martin Tashner of Whitestone died Oct. 16. He was 94 and lived in Whitestone at the time of his death.

Tashner was married for 51 years to his wife, Ida, who died in 1998. He was a devoted husband, father and uncle. He was also a poet, writer and philosopher and was known for his humor, literary mastery, kindness and quiet demeanor.

He is survived by his son, Richard, and niece, Amy.
