Woman hits, threatens to kill daughter: DA

FLUSHING — A 43-year-old Flushing woman was arrested after she allegedly shoved her daughter and struck her on the back with a mop before threatening to kill her, the Queens district attorney said.

Rosemary Ziskind, of 139-19 31st Road in Flushing, was arraigned Nov. 12 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Joseph Zayas on charges of assault, menacing and harassment, Queens DA Richard Brown said. The defendant, who was released on her own recognizance, will return to court Dec. 14, he said.

The defendant is accused of pushing her daughter and then hitting her on the back with a mop handle, causing the girl to suffer substantial pain, the DA said. Ziskind then allegedly scratched the girl’s face and retrieved a knife, pointing it at her and threatening to kill her, Brown said.

The defendant is alleged to have admitted to threatening to kill the girl, the DA said.
