FOREST HILLS — A 33-year-old Bronx man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a Forest Hills business and stole an estimated $3,000 worth of merchandise and property, the Queens district attorney said.
Jason Commisso, of the Bronx, was arraigned Dec. 15 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Toko Serita on charges of burglary, grand larceny and criminal mischief, Queens DA Richard Brown said. The defendant, who was held on $75,000 bail, will return to court Jan. 19, the DA said.
On Oct. 8, the defendant is alleged to have broken through the security gate and shattered the front door glass of a business on Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills, the DA said. He is accused of stealing $3,000 worth of currency, cigarettes and phone cards, Brown said.
Police found a flashlight on the store’s counter that did not belong to its owner.
Commisso was arrested after his DNA profile allegedly matched prints on the flashlight, the DA said. The store’s surveillance camera showed two people breaking into the store.
