Man from N.J. busted in boro teen sex sting: DA

KEW GARDENS — A New Jersey man was charged last week with soliciting a teen girl, who in reality was an undercover male police officer, for sex online, the Queens district attorney said.

Barry Schrager, 58, of Montclair, N.J., was held on $50,000 bail last Thursday on attempted rape, attempted criminal sexual act, attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors and attempted endangering the welfare of a child, DA Richard Brown said.

Between Jan. 25 and Feb. 23, the suspect was communicating with the undercover agent, who was posing as a 14-year-old Queens girl, under the screen name Dominantbearing and made several sexual comments, the DA said.

Schrager was arrested in Queens Feb. 24 at a location where he allegedly arranged to meet the girl for a sexual encounter, according to Brown. Officers found condoms in his pocket, the DA said,

If convicted of all the charges, Schrager faces up to four years in prison.
