EAST ELMHURST — A pair of would-be car thief suspects were arraigned two weeks ago on charges of beating a man who was pumping gas, the Queens district attorney said.
Taurean Farmer, 27, of the Bronx, and Kashawn Lyons, 23, of 105th Street in E. Elmhurst, were charged with attempted robbery in the March 31 incident, the DA said.
The victim was gasing his 2000 Mercury SUV when Farmer allegedly struck him in the back of the head with an unknown object, according to the criminal complaint. Lyons then wrestled the victim to the ground and demanded he give up the keys to the vehicle, the complaint said.
The suspects then fled the scene without getting the keys, the DA said.
