Linda DeSabato is going home again.
As President of Vallo Transportation, Ltd., she is purchasing 1.25 acres in Whitestone for her headquarters – where she and her brothers once rented over 30 years ago.
According to DeSabato, the property, at 151-21 6th Road, includes buildings that will be renovated for corporate headquarters and maintenance facilities. Vallo can expand to operate approximately 50 school buses employing about 75 people.
“We are very excited about owning and moving into our new facility, and are very proud of the services we provide to the Queens community and to our dedicated staff,” said DeSabato. “We look forward to our continued involvement in the community and to the opportunity this move provides us for continued growth.”
Vallo Transportation, Ltd., currently located in rental facilities in College Point, has been serving the Queens community since 1984.
“We found this site available, it was the right price at the right time,” she said.
Safe, prompt and courteous service is the hallmark of Vallo Transportation, said DeSabato, who noted that the company’s knowledgeable staff and first-rate drivers ensure the safety of clients, while delivering the professionalism they deserve.
“I know the importance of keeping our children safe,” said DeSabato, herself a mother. “Vallo has an excellent N.Y.S. Department of Transportation record and a serious commitment to safety.”
The company currently provides yellow school bus service to Queens students going to the Bronx High School of Science and to the High School for American Studies at Lehman College. Charter service for field trips and sporting events is also offered to schools.
Vallo is currently developing routes for Queens students planning to attend Brooklyn Technical High School this fall.
Vallo Transportation traces its origins to the hard work and dedication of Eddie and Tony Vallone, the owners of Parkway Bus Service, which provided school bus and event transportation services to New York City schoolchildren.
Ed Vallone’s children, Linda, Phil, and Ed Jr., continue the tradition of providing excellent service for a new generation of passengers today.
