Fans of Espana took to the 31st Avenue in Astoria after the country captured its first World Cup win Sunday, with a goal in the 116th minute. After pouring out of Casa Galicia, a Spanish social club and restaurant, people danced in the street, vigorously waved the Spanish flag, and chanted Espana. For at least five minutes, all traffic on the Astoria street was halted as exuberant people surrounded a car that blasted dance music … until finally the driver was allowed to keep going.
