BRIARWOOD—Police were looking for a man wanted in a pair of attempted sexual assaults that took place earlier this month.
The suspect was described as a black man in his mid 20s, 6 feet tall with a thin build and black hair in dreadlocks, police said.
Around 4 a.m. on Oct. 13, a 25-year-old woman was walking from the train station at Parsons Boulevard & Hillside Avenue when she was approached from behind by the suspect, who attempted to engage her in a conversation, according to investigators. When the victim neared the corner of 160th Street & Normal Road, the suspect grabbed the victim from behind, began choking her and forced her to the ground, where he reached under her dress and removed her underwear, police said.
The victim fought the off the suspect, who fled, according to investigators.
Four days later, around 5 a.m., two women were walking from the train station at the Van Wyck Expressway & Queens Boulevard when they were approached from behind by the same suspect, who again attempted to speak to them, police said.
At Pershing Crescent and Manton Street, the suspect grabbed both victims and forced them into a rear yard, where he began to fondle them and attempted to remove one of the women’s underwear, according to police.
The victims fought off the suspect and he fled again, police said.
