BLOOMY BLEW IT!

We thought every mayor elected in the city since 1969 has been taken quietly into a side chamber in City Hall and told the story of one-term mayor John V. Lindsay. He only served one term because he chose not to plow Queens streets 40 years ago.
Unfortunately, the snowbound residents of Queens will not have the satisfaction of voting our arrogant, elitist, misguided mayor out of office, as he is a lame duck, just counting down his days.
City Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr. stated that the “big cover-up now has to end. Missing a few streets is a ‘mistake,’ missing a few boroughs is a scandal. The people of New York City demand and deserve answers. Many lives were endangered and some were lost.”
On Monday, January 10 at 1 p.m. the City Council committees on Public Safety, chaired by Vallone; Sanitation; Fire; Criminal Justice and Transportation will hold an oversight hearing on the blizzard response on the 16th floor of 250 Broadway.
City Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer marveled at the disconnect between “Hizzoner” and the everyday people that are struggling to get out of their houses, walk down their streets and attempt to get to work to make a living is unbelievable.”
But City Councilmember Erich Ulrich had the best analogy, “The mayor telling me and my constituents to go see a Broadway play when there was no ‘A’ train service and the streets haven’t been cleared is like Marie Antoinette saying, ‘Let them eat cake.’”
Queens will remember mayor, Queens will remember.
