State Assemblyman Ed Braunstein (D-Bayside) and his predecessor, Ann-Margaret Carrozza, are promoting a gift drive to bring some love to disabled and hospitalized veterans this Valentine’s Day.
The 15th-annual “Valentines for Vets” event is a chance for people to donate cards, candy, sugar-free snacks, toiletries and new clothing such as pajamas, robes, slippers and socks to the brave men and women who have suffered in service to their country.
“It would mean a great deal to our hospitalized and disabled heroes if you would choose to be their valentine by donating candy or cards with a message of appreciation,” Carrozza said.
Co-sponsored by Carrozza’s law offices, the Jefferson Democratic Club, Dr. Robert Mittman and Braunstein, the drive ends Friday, so all donations should be dropped off in person by that date.
Drop-off spots include the law offices of Carrozza at 213-38 40th Ave.; Braunstein’s office at 213-33 39th Ave., Suite 238; and Dr. Robert Mittman’s Allergy & Asthma Family Care Center at 38-21 Bell Blvd.
