Civic pride

Here in our city, there are hundreds of fine civic organizations and an extraordinary number of outstanding community leaders who work tirelessly on behalf of all of the residents.

These leaders spend countless hours attending meetings and hearings, writing letters, making phone calls and working with community boards, elected officials and city agencies to resolve problems and to lobby for positive changes in city regulations and practices.

They are unpaid volunteers and most of them use their own funds to cover some of the expenses involved in running an organization. Other expenses like newsletter costs, insurance and organization supplies come out of membership dues.

Please consider joining your local civic association, even if you cannot attend meetings. Ask a neighbor if you are not sure of how to join.

Membership dues are very affordable and the money collected helps in the long run to ensure that our communities continue to be desirable and wonderful places to live. If you have the time, civics are always looking for volunteers to help out. It is a great way to meet your neighbors and to work for positive community goals.
