LONG ISLAND CITY — A Flushing man has been charged with joining seven unapprehended suspects with severely beating a man inside a Long Island City billiards hall, according to the criminal complaint.
Harris Zaman, 22, of 47-28 Parsons Blvd., and seven other suspects allegedly punched a man in the head face and body until he fell down at about 5 a.m. April 26 inside Steinway Billiards at 35-25 Steinway St., the complaint said.
Zaman and two other suspects allegedly then beat the victim with pool sticks while he was on the ground, and another suspect allegedly hit him with a metal stand on his head and body, according to the complaint.
The victim suffered bruising and swelling on his face, forehead and neck and a laceration to his forehead that required he get 11 stitches at a local hospital, the complaint said.
Zaman was arraigned June 29 in Queens Criminal Court, the DA said, and he faces charges of assault, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon. He was released on his own recognizance and is due to return to court Aug. 4, according to the DA.
