ST. ALBANS — A Brooklyn man was charged with menacing, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment after he allegedly threatened to shoot a woman and stole $20 from her, a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Nicholas Brevett, 31, of 814 Belmont Ave. in Brooklyn, allegedly walked up to the woman around 2:30 a.m. July 24 in front of 197-19 115th Ave. in St. Albans and told her, “I’m going to mess up everything, give me my money,” according to the criminal complaint.
Brevett then allegedly approached the woman holding a gun and told her to give him $20 or he would shoot her, the complaint said.
The woman’s 11-year-old son was around at the time of the incident, the complaint said.
Brevett was arraigned July 25 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Gene Lopez on charges of menacing, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment and was released on his own recognizance, the spokeswoman said.
Brevett is next scheduled to appear in court Sept. 20, the spokeswoman said.
