RIDGEWOOD — A man on a motorcycle led police on a high-speed police chase along a crowded Ridgewood sidewalk before ultimately being caught and arrested, according to the New York Post.
Hector Gonzalez, 25, was allegedly speeding through stop signs and red lights on his 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle July 21 when police saw him at the intersection of Woodbine Street and Traffic Avenue and began to chase him at about 1:09 p.m., according to court documents obtained by the Post.
The rider allegedly hopped a curb and drove along a sidewalk filled with pedestrians, who had to jump out of his way to avoid getting hit, the Post reported.
Gonzalez allegedly took a wrong turn down a dead-end street and was arrested after a short struggle, according to the Post’s court documents.
Gonzalez was charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest, the Post reported.
