Boro man mugged, beat woman over purse: Cops

ELMHURST — A Forest Hills man was arraigned last month for allegedly trying to mug a woman on the street, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Raqeeb Hamid, 27, of 68th Drive, was charged with attempted robbery Sept. 29, the DA’s office said.

The day before at around 9:15 p.m., Hamid allegedly approached a woman at the corner of 74th Street and 46th Avenue and told her to give him her purse and money, the criminal complaint said.

When she refused, he allegedly threw her to the ground and kicked her face and body, according to the complaint.
