Brooklyn man choked victim at hospital: DA

LONG ISLAND CITY — Police arrested a Brooklyn man on charges stemming from an alleged choking incident at Mt. Sinai Hospital of Queens, at 25-10 30th Ave., Sept. 28.

According to a complaint filed with the Queens district attorney, at approximately 3:30 p.m. James Stevenson, 47, of 120 Fulton St. in Brooklyn, allegedly grabbed his victim around the throat and punched him the face, causing a panic in the emergency room.

Stevenson was arraigned the following day on charges of third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment, the DA said.

If convicted on the assault charge, he would have to provide a blood sample, the DA said.
