Laser hair removal doesn’t have to be expensive — in fact, it can be quite affordable and local, too.
The Berkowits School in Forest Hills has been teaching future electrolysis professionals since 1978, but few know that the school also takes in customers and removes any unwanted hair at discounted rates.
Barry Herman, director of the Berkowits School, said that students do the hair removing under strict supervision using only state-of-the-art laser hair removal equipment. “We are using the latest, sterile equipment and any student providing the treatment will be under strict and constant supervision,” said Herman, whose mother was an electrolysist for many years. “It is important to know how to train properly — our students are trained properly and it shows in their work.”
Anyone who utilizes Berkowits for hair removal will notice the extreme savings — up to 50 percent less than other professional rates. Herman said that they cater mostly to women of all ages, usually for unwanted facial hair, but can remove hair from many different areas on the body.
“Women use electrolysis for cosmetic reasons. And it should be affordable,” he said. “A woman can come here and get the same results she might get at an expensive place, but at a much more affordable rate.”
And there is no need to sign up for any discounts — the low prices are Berkowits’ every day prices. They offer free consultations to anyone who isn’t sure if they want treatment and you won’t pay anything until after treatment is completed.
The Berkowits School of Electrolysis is a vocational institute licensed by the State of New York. It has been in business since 1978, and moved to its current location in 1982. The school’s training area is replete with professional-grade equipment for use by students and faculty.
