Belt Parkway rollover claims South Ozone woman

SOUTH OZONE PARK — A 21-year-old woman was killed in a car accident in South Ozone Park Saturday, police said.

The woman was riding in a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by a 26-year-old man shortly before her death, police said. Besides the woman, police said there were three other passengers in the car: a 24-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman.

The driver was traveling eastbound on South Conduit Avenue near 116th Street when the car left the roadway and rolled over onto the Belt Parkway, police said. The woman was thrown out of the vehicle as the car rolled, police said.

The 911 call for the accident came in at 4:20 a.m., police said. The woman who was thrown from the vehicle was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

The operator of the vehicle and the 24-year-old man were also brought to Jamaica Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition, police said. The other two women in the car were brought to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where they were also listed in stable condition, police said.

The names of the victims had not been released as of Tuesday afternoon press time.

The NYPD has not made any arrests in this incident and said the investigation was ongoing.
