Robber hit banks in LIC and Brooklyn: NYPD

LONG ISLAND CITY — Police were on the lookout for a man who is believed to have robbed two banks, one in Long Island City and one in Brooklyn.

The man, shown in a police photo dressed in dark clothing, a dark hat and glasses, is said to have entered the HSBC bank, at 22-15 43rd Ave., Dec. 7 at 8:48 a.m., police said. After he arrived, he showed a silver gun, fired a shot into the ceiling and demanded money, police said. The man did not get any money in this incident and ended up running away, police said.

The same suspect is believed to have robbed a Capital One Bank, at 185 Broadway in Brooklyn, police said. The man entered the bank Oct. 18 at 8:54 a.m., showed a firearm and passed the teller a note demanding money, police said. He fled after receiving it, police said.

Nobody was injured in either incident, police said.
