Swipe Cash, Smokes From R’Wood Store

Cigarettes and cash were reportedly stolen at gunpoint by a pair of perpetrators from a shop in Ridgewood during a stickup on Monday morning, Mar. 19, according to police.

Law enforcement sources said the heist took place at around 1 a.m. at a 24-hour grocery store located at the corner of Forest Avenue and Bleecker Street.

Reportedly, the suspects-described as African-American males- entered the shop and demanded cash from one of the employees. Police said one of the perpetrators displayed a firearm.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of currency and a quantity of cigarettes, police said, the crooks fled from the scene in an unknown direction.

Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.

Despite a search of the surrounding area for the suspects, no immediate arrests were made, authorities stated.

The 104th Precinct Detective Squad is conducting an investigation, police said.
