Man Fatally Bludgeoned In Elmhurst

The body of an 89-year-old Elmhurst man and supermarket owner was found beaten and bound inside his residence on Monday morning, Mar. 26, and police are investigating if his death was the result of a home invasion, it was reported.

Law enforcement sources identified him as 89-year-old Demason Llano, the co-owner of El Mundo Supermarket of Corona, who was found unconscious with severe head trauma inside his residence on 43rd Avenue near Junction Boulevard at around 8:30 a.m.

According to published reports, the victim’s hands were bound with zipties.

Members of the 110th Precinct responded to the scene along with EMS units, who pronounced him dead. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

The 110th Precinct Detective Squad is continuing their investigation; as of press time, police said, no arrests have been made.
