The two men pictured above are wanted by police for allegedly posing as NYPD detectives while gaining access into an Elmhurst home during an unannounced visit in January. According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred at 1 p.m. on Jan. 10, when the suspects-described as caucasian males between 30 and 35 years of age- walked into a location on Elmhurst Avenue near Denman Street and identified themselves as detectives. When one of the residents asked to see their identification, the phony police officers refused and left the scene without incident. The matter was later reported to the 110th Precinct. Anyone with any information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts that could prove helpful is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-577-TIPS, by text message to 274637 (enter information, then the code TIP577) or online at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com. All calls and messages will be kept confidential.
