Infant left unattended on Queens bus

A 2-year-old girl was left unattended inside a private bus on a Corona street when the driver left, reportedly, to go home.

The girl was found alone on the bus at approximately 9 a.m. Thursday morning, according to authorities.  Police were called and were able to get onto the bus and take the infant to the 110th Precinct where she was examined by EMS.  The girl was determined to be in good physical condition and was reunited with her mother at the station.

Police arrested the bus driver, Ana Garcia, 62, of Corona, and charged her with failure to exercise control of a minor.

The New York Post reported that Garcia parked on the street so she could stop by her house.  The girl was unattended for about 15 minutes, the paper said.
