Adeline Melone Jardula, who lived in Bayside Hills from 1960-78, died May 16 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Conn. She was 90.
Jardula was born July 24, 1921, in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel Melone. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk and was a member of the APWU Union.
She was known to everyone as “Aunty Addy” and was the wife of the late Thomas Jardula, of Little Ferry, N.J.
Jardula is survived by her niece Laura Wallace-Rhodes, nephews Michael Wallace and Kevin Wallace and great-nieces Katherine Brindisi and Cheyenne Rhodes.
A burial mass was celebrated Friday at St. Peter Church, at 107 E. Main St. in Torrington. Burial was followed in Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island.
