From train overpasses to the sides of business, an alleged graffiti vandal from Corona was arrested last Wednesday, May 23, and charged with scrawling his tags onto a litany of locations in Maspeth and other Queens neighborhoods, law enforcement sources reported.

Police identified the suspect as John Gomez, 20, of 108th Street in Corona, who was busted on more than two dozen counts of making graffiti and criminal mischief.

According to information provided by the Queens District Attorney’s office, Gomez was charged for allegedly painting his tags in black and yellow spray paint on the side of a business on 56th Road near 61st Street in Maspeth in May 2011. The incident was later reported to the 104th Precinct and catalogued in its graffiti database.

According to the criminal complaint, Gomez allegedly scrawled a tag in black spray paint on a barrier wall along the 7 line in the vicinity of College Point Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue in Flushing.

Officers in the 111th Precinct also catalogued tags linked to Gomez painted in various colors on the sides of homes, businesses, a public sidewalk and the bathroom wall of a public park in Flushing, law enforcement sources noted.

Additional properties allegedly tagged by Gomez include locations in the 110th Precinct’s confines on 45th Avenue and Junction Boulevard in Corona, 60th Avenue in Elmhurst and a railroad overpass at the corner of 74th Street and 45th Avenue in Elmhurst.
