Firearm scare at boro school a false alarm

GLENDALE — Police said they recovered PVC pipe with wires sticking out after responding to a call at PS 88 in Glendale Monday morning.

According to the Breaking News Network, the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit was called to the scene for a reported “found firearm” at about 8 a.m.

BNN reported that the school, at 59-09 Felix Ave., was evacuated.

A spokesman for the NYPD said the item, which was declared not dangerous, was found on the side of the school.
