J Train Closed In Qns. This Weekend
J train service will be suspended between Jamaica Center and Crescent Street this weekend, from 6 a.m. Saturday, May 19, until 10 p.m. Sunday, May 20.
During this period, J train service will operate between Crescent Street and Chambers Street. Shuttle buses will provide alternate service to the J train between Crescent Street and 121st Street and also stop at Jamaica- Van Wyck for connections to the E train.
The shuttle buses will stop as follows at the affected stations:
– Crescent Street-on Fulton Street at Crescent Street;
– Cypress Hills-at the B13 stop on Jamaica Avenue at Hemlock Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or on Crescent Street at Jamaica Avenue (to Crescent Street station);
– 75th Street-Elderts Lane-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 75th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or at Dexter Court (to Crescent Street);
– 85th Street-Forest Parkway-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 85th Street (to Jamaica-Van Wyck) or 86th Street (to Crescent Street);
– Woodhaven Boulevard-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at Woodhaven Boulevard;
– 104th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 104th Street;
– 111th Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 111th Street;
– 121st Street-at Q56 bus stops on Jamaica Avenue at 121st Street; and
– Jamaica-Van Wyck-on the Van Wyck Expressway service road at 89th Avenue.
Subway Changes
The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.
These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, May 16. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.
Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:
More Disruptions On The 7 Train
There will be no 7 train service between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street on Tuesday, May 22, from 12:01 until 5 a.m. Regular service will be maintained on the 7 line between Queensboro Plaza and Flushing-Main Street.
To travel between Manhattan and Queens, transfer from the 7 train to the N train at Queensboro Plaza or Times Square or the E or F trains at Roosevelt Avenue or Queens Plaza.
Shuttle buses will replace 7 train service between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue in Long Island City. These buses will additionally stop at Queens Plaza for connections to the E train.
The shuttle buses will stop as follows:
– Queensboro Plaza-on Queens Plaza South at 27th Street;
– Queens Plaza-on Jackson Avenue at Queens Plaza South;
– Court Square-23rd Street-on 44th Drive at 23rd Street (to Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue) or on 23rd Street at 44th Drive (to Queensboro Plaza);
– Hunters Point Avenue-on 21st Street at 49th Avenue; and
– Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue- on Vernon Boulevard at 50th Avenue.
Additionally, Flushing-bound 7 trains will skip the 82nd Street, 90th Street, 103rd Street and 111th Street stations on Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, June 1.
For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or 74th Street, then transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train.
During this time period, it was noted that all trains at the Junction Boulevard station will board at the Manhattan-bound platform.
Furthermore, Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the 111th Street, 103rd Street, 90th Street and 82nd Street stations on Saturday, May 19, from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or 74th Street, then transfer to a Flushing bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take a Flushing-bound 7 train to Junction Boulevard or Mets- Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattan bound 7 train.
‘Fastrack’ Repairs Affect F, M Lines
“Fastrack” repairs along the B, D, F and M lines between Grand Street and 57th Street in Manhattan on Thursday, May 17, and Friday, May 18, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. will affect service on the F and M lines in Queens.
F trains will run on the E line in both directions between Roosevelt Avenue and West Fourth Street during this period. As a result of this change, Q train service will be extended from 57th Street in Manhattan to the 21st Street-Queensbridge, making stops at Lexington Avenue-63rd Street and Roosevelt Island. Shuttle buses will also operate between 21st Street- Queensbridge and Queens Plaza.
Additionally, M train service between Myrtle Avenue-Broadway and 71st-Continental Avenues will end early on Thursday.
The last Forest Hills-bound M train will depart Myrtle Avenue at 9:50 p.m., while the last Middle Village bound M train will depart 71st- Continental Avenues at 9:35 p.m. After these trains depart, the M will revert to its regular late night shuttle service between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue-Broadway.
As an alternate to regular M train service, E trains will operate local service between Queens Plaza and 71st-Continental Avenues late nights on Thursday and Friday.
E Trains Switch Lines During Overnights
E trains will run on the F line in both directions between 36th Street in Queens and West Fourth Street in Manhattan late nights on Tuesday, May 22, through Friday, May 25, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
During this period, Jamaica Center bound E trains will resume their regular route following 21st Street- Queensbridge, while World Trade Center/Manhattan-bound E trains will resume their normal route after West Fourth Street.
It was also noted that M trains will operate on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and 47th-50th Streets in Manhattan on Tuesday through Thursday from 10 p.m. until midnight. Forest Hills-bound M trains will run regular service after 36th Street, while Middle Village-bound M trains will resume regular service after 47th-50th Streets.
For service to the Queens Plaza or the Court Square-23rd Street stations, transfer to the 7 train at 74th Street- Roosevelt Avenue or the Fifth Avenue/ 42nd Street-Bryant Park stations.
E, F Trains In Qns. Skip Some Stations
Manhattan-bound E and F trains will skip the Van Wyck Boulevard and 75th Avenue stations late nights on Saturday, May 19, from 12:01 a.m. until 10 p.m. Manhattan-bound F trains will also skip the Sutphin Boulevard and 75th Avenue stations during this period.
It was also noted that Manhattanbound E trains will also skip the Van Wyck Boulevard station on Tuesday, May 22, through Friday, May 25, from 12:01 until 5 a.m.
For service to these stations, take the E or F train to Union Turnpike or 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train or a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the E train to Jamaica-Van Wyck or the F train to Parsons Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or F train.
Weekend Switch Of Lines For F Trains
Manhattan-bound F trains will run on the M line between Roosevelt Avenue and 47th-50th Streets this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 21. These trains will run express service between Roosevelt Avenue and Queens Plaza.
As a result, there will be no Manhattan bound F train service to the 21st Street-Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island, Lexington Avenue-63rd Street and 57th Street stations.
For service to these stations, take the F train to 47th-50th Streets, then transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from the 21st Street- Queensbridge and Roosevelt Island stations, take the F train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattanbound F train.
It was also noted that Jamaicabound F trains will operate local service between 21st Street-Queensbridge and Roosevelt Avenue from 11 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday; and on Monday, May 21, through Friday, May 25, from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.
Late Night Service Split On The G Line
G train service will operate in two sections-between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and Church Avenue-late nights on Monday, May 21, through Friday, May 25, from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Riders can transfer between G trains at Bedford-Nostrand Avenues to continue their trip.
It was noted that all trains running between Court Square and Bedford- Nostrand Avenues will operate every 30 minutes. Riders are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
Some L Trains Make Final Stop At Myrtle
The last stop for select Rockaway Parkway-bound L trains will be Myrtle Wyckoff Avenues on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, May 25. Riders can transfer between L trains at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues to continue their trip.
It was noted that L train service between Rockaway Parkway and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues will operate every 12 minutes. Riders are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
Rockaway Weekend Shutdown On A Line
There will be no A train service between Howard Beach and Far Rockaway-and no Rockaway Park Shuttle service between Broad Channel and Beach 90th Street-this weekend, from 12:15 a.m. Saturday, May 19, until 4:45 a.m. Monday, May 21.
During this time period, A trains will run between 207th Street in Manhattan and Lefferts Boulevard- Ozone Park or Howard Beach. The Rockaway Park Shuttle will operate between Beach 116th Street and Mott Avenue, making stops at Beach 105th Street, Beach 98th Street, Beach 90th Street, Beach 67th Street, Beach 60th Street, Beach 44th Street, Beach 36th Street and Beach 25th Street.
Shuttle buses will operate as alternate service during this time period. Far Rockaway shuttle buses will provide nonstop service between Howard Beach and Mott Avenue, while Rockaway Park shuttle buses will run between Howard Beach and Beach 116th Street and will make a stop at the Broad Channel station.
Additionally, A train service will operate every 20 minutes between Rockaway Boulevard and Far Rockaway on Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, June 15. During this period, A train service will run in two sections- between 207th Street and Lefferts Boulevard and between Rockaway Boulevard and Far Rockaway.
Riders can transfer between A trains at Rockaway Boulevard to continue their trip. It was noted that this service change does not affect the Rockaway Park Shuttle.
