Sex Ed. Display Too Provocative
A teacher at Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood has reportedly been barred from teaching after allegations a 2011 sexual education class was a little too illustrative.
According to news sources, former science teacher Dyrel Bartee is accused of engaging in a lewd presentation on childbirth in May 2011, at times opening his legs and grabbing his crotch.
He was removed from teaching in November 2011 and resigned last April.
According to an investigation by the Special Commissioner of Investigation- a unit of the city Department of Investigation-this was one of several instances in which Bartee “acted out” roles in his classes.
A statement from the Department of Education to WPIX-TV claimed that Bartee began teaching at the school in 2005 after a stint at Newtown High School in Elmhurst.
The agency is still investigating Bartee, the statement added.
