Female Bandit Holds Up Elmhurst Branch
With the use of a demand note, a female bandit made off with big bucks from an Elmhurst bank during a heist last Friday afternoon, June 15, law enforcement sources said.
Reportedly, the heist occurred just before 4:45 p.m. last Friday at the HSBC branch located at 87-03 Queens Blvd. near 55th Avenue.
Police said the suspect-described as a caucasian female in her 20s-entered the location, approached a teller and presented a note demanding money.
The bank employee reportedly provided the suspect with a sum of cash and, secretly, a security dye pack.
After receiving the money, authorities noted, the crook fled from the scene in an unknown direction.
Members of the 110th Precinct responded to the scene.
Despite a search of the surrounding area, no immediate arrests were made, law enforcement sources said.
The heist is being investigated by the 110th Precinct Detective Squad and the NYPD Major Case Squad, police said.
