The Straphangers Campaign has designated the Q as the best subway line and the C as the worst in the transit advocacy agency’s 15th annual State of the Subways survey.
“The subways are a story of winners and losers,” said Gene Russianoff, Straphangers Campaign senior attorney. “Riders on the best line – the Q – have much more reliable cars, more frequent service, more subway car cleanliness and the better car announcements than riders on the worst line.”
The C has been rated worst six times in the 15 years the Straphangers Campaign has rated subway lines.
The Q runs between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn and Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard in Queens.
The C train operates from East New York in Brooklyn and Washington Heights in Manhattan.
The C performed worst in amount of scheduled service, delays caused by mechanical breakdowns, car cleanliness and announcements
The Straphangers gave the No. 7 line the runner-up spot for second best followed by the J/Z , No. 1 the L, No. 6, the F, the M, the R the N, the No. 3, the D, the No. 2, the B, the A, the No. 4, the No. 5 and the C.
