Jamaica man dies from gunshot wound: Police

SOUTH JAMAICA — Police said a Jamaica man who was shot in the torso in early August succumbed to his injuries last Thursday.

Police found Patrick Munroe with a gunshot wound Aug. 6 at 111-20 Merrick Blvd., and transported him to Jamaica Hospital, where he remained in critical condition until he died, according to a statement released by the NYPD.

Police said there were no arrests in the case and the investigation was ongoing.

A memorial for Munroe, who was a volunteer with the Greater Allen AME’s food pantry, is planned for Friday at about 11 p.m. on Merrick Boulevard between 111th and Sayres avenues in South Jamaica.
