Far Rock man charged in murder of relative on LI: Nassau PD

LONG ISLAND — A Far Rockaway man was arrested Monday after he allegedly shot and killed a relative on Long Island, Nassau County police said.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Monday, 31-year-old Wilfred Labossiere, of 306 Beach 19th St., arrived at a house in Elmont to drop his 3-year-old son off at the boy’s grandmother’s, police said.

After leaving, Labossiere called the home and got into an argument with the boy’s grandmother and 29-year-old Christopher Mullings, a family relative from Roosevelt, L.I., according to police.

When the Far Rockaway man returned to the home, he got into a physical altercation with Mullings before allegedly pulling out a gun and firing multiple shots, hitting the grandmother and Mullings, police said.

Mullings was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Labossiere then placed the grandmother in his car and drove her to a nearby hospital, handing her off to hospital personnel before fleeing the scene, police said.

The grandmother was listed in critical but stable position.

Nassau police said they then arrested Labossiere in Far Rockaway.

He was charged with murder, assault and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
