Second Stickup At Bushwick Eatery

For the second consecutive month, a Bushwick sandwich shop was robbed by a man armed with a box cutter-and police are asking the public’s help in tracking down the suspects involved in both capers.

Law enforcement sources said the crook held up the Subway restaurant located at 1432 Myrtle Ave. at around 6:20 a.m. on the morning of Mar. 16.

The same location was robbed a month earlier by a bandit with a box cutter at around 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 26, according to authorities.

Police sources stated that both cases do not appear to be related as of press time, but the investigations are ongoing.

Regarding the March heist, authorities said, the crook entered the location and approached a clerk at the counter. The bandit reportedly displayed a box cutter and demanded cash.

After obtaining a sum of money, police sources noted, the suspect fled from the scene in an unknown direction.

Officers from the 83rd Precinct responded to the scene. No one was injured.

The perpetrator was described by police as a black male with a beard who was last seen wearing a blue ski cap, a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

As for the February caper, law en- forcement sources stated, the suspect in that incident walked into the Subway shop at 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 26 and ordered a sandwich.

While an employee prepared the order, authorities noted, the bandit displayed a box cutter and demanded that the worker provide him with cash from the register.

The clerk reportedly complied with the thief’s request and handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the bandit, who then fled from the scene in an unknown direction.

The robbery was reported to the 83rd Precinct; there were no injuries.

Police described the suspect in the February heist as a black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the word “PARK” written on the back.

As noted, the 83rd Precinct Detective Squad is investigating both incidents.
