OZONE PARK — An off-duty FBI agent lost his assault rifle and car when they were both stolen Tuesday night, the www.nypost.com/p/news/local/queens/fbi_guy_car_and_assault_rifle_stolen_Sgu2AKnwDMYc7JAF4i5V7J“>New York Post reported.
The Post said the agent, whose name was not released, had noticed his Toyota Camry had gone missing from his Ozone Park home around 8 p.m. along with the M-4 assault rifle and bulletproof vest inside the trunk.
It was a similar incident to one that occurred July 18, when another man was seen trying to steal the same car from the same spot, the Post reported. At that time, the agent fired one shot into the suspect’s back, the Post said. Police later identified the suspect as 23-year-old Adrian Ricketts of Brooklyn, according to the Post.
Ricketts was treated for the back wound at Brookdale Hospital along with two Brooklyn associates, 23-year-old Lyster Hensford and 28-year-old Shamarie Jackson, who helped him try to steal the car, the Post said.
The Post said charges against the agent were eventually dropped before the NYPD turned the investigation over to the Queens district attorney, who said in March he would not be charged criminally.
