Cops Arrest Man For Ozone Pk. Rape
Authorities have collared a man suspected of raping the woman to whom he gave a ride early on the morning of May 5.
Police arrested Travis Wynter, 25, of 78th Street in Ozone Park last Wednesday, May 8, officials said.
According to police reports, the victim was walking up Cross Bay Boulevard last Sunday morning, hailing cars and hoping to get a ride home, when Wynter allegedly pulled up and offered to drive her.
After driving a few blocks, Wynter allegedly asked, “Now, what are you going to do for me?” reports stated. The victim told him she would not do anything, and he drove her to 97th Avenue and 98th Street.
After dropping her off at the corner, it is alledged he exited his car, threw her to the ground, and raped her, according to police.
Wynter is being held on $50,000 bail, and his next court date is scheduled for May 20, it was reported.
