The alleged shooter who opened fire on a bus in South Jamaica 2 1/2 weeks ago killing a 14-year-old girl was picked up by the authorities in South Carolina early Tuesday morning, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

Kevin McClinton, 21, was arrested without incident in the Riverland section of Cayce, S.C, around 6:30 a.m., a spokeswoman in the Columbia district office said.

Police in New York identified McClinton as the suspect in the May 18 shooting of D’aja Robinson.

The NYPD believes McClinton allegedly fired off at least nine rounds from a .40 calibur handgun into the side of a Q6 bus as D’aja and a friend were riding home from a Sweet 16 party.

One of the bullets struck the teenager in the head and she died at the scene.
