Police arrested two men in connection with the fatal weekend shooting of a 33-year-old man in Jamaica, the NYPD said Wednesday.

Edwin Fernandez, 34, and Brunildo Guichardo, 28, who both live in the same apartment complex near the corner of 163rd Street and 89th Avenue, were charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon and assault, police said.

Cops responded to reports of gunfire Saturday just after 5 a.m. down the block from where the pair live, and arrived in front of a strip of small shops to find 33-year-old Martin Delrosario with a gunshot wound to the chest and a 32-year-old man shot in the ankle, police said.

Both were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where Delrosario, who is from elsewhere in Jamaica, was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD.

Residents were in disbelief when they awoke Saturday to find the street blocked off and full of the city’s Finest.

“I came out of my building to do laundry and they had everything on lockdown,” said Dennis Ortega.

Some neighbors said the shooting was the result of an argument, and that the bloody men ran down the block after they were hit.

Maxwell Adjehou has lived on the block for 17 years and said nothing like this had ever happened before.

“That shocks me,” he said when informed of the homicide by TimesLedger. “It is right in front of my house.”

Neighbors recalled hearing music from a party spot that has spawned brawls before, but it was unclear if it had anything to do with Saturday’s shooting.

Police said the investigation was ongoing.
