An abandoned newborn was found in the backyard of a South Richmond Hill home, police said.
The baby boy was found naked with the umbilical cord still attached at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
The residents of the 132nd Street home made a 9-1-1 call to report the abandoned child, who was then taken to Jamaica Hospital. He is now in stable condition, according to police.
The search for the parents is still underway.
