Cops have arrested a man and charged him with the attempted rape of a woman in Flushing, said police.
The arrest comes less than a week after the NYPD released a photo of the suspect boarding a bus before the incident.
David Diaz, 24, of Flushing, is accused of following the 23-year-old victim from a bus stop around Melbourne Avenue and Kissena Boulevard at about 4:45 a.m. on November 1, according to police. He then allegedly grabbed her by the throat, shoved her to the ground and punched her in the head.
The suspect allegedly tried to rape the woman, but fled when a witness heard the victim’s screams for help, said cops. The witness yelled to the attacker that he had called 9-1-1.
