QUEENS — The Police Department said officers issued hundreds of tickets in the borough last week during a citywide initiative to improve pedestrian safety during the holiday shopping season.
Police issued 637 double-parking tickets and 705 moving-violation summonses in busy Queens shopping areas and arrested 70 motorists driving with a suspended license, the department said.
The NYPD is reminding pedestrians and drivers to take it easy during the travel season, especially when the weather turns frightful.
