The NYPD made a grisly discovery when officers responded to a call from an East Elmhurst home just past midnight Wednesday morning.
Estrella Castaneda, 56, and her daughter Lina, 25, were found with blunt force trauma to their bodies, police said.
A man, believed to be Estrella’s boyfriend was taken into custody and Lina’s 4-year-old daughter was removed from the residence on 87th Street near Astoria Boulevard, according to the NYPD.
Sources said a bloody hammer was found at the scene.
The 44-year-old suspect was being questioned by police, the NYPD said.
