The commanding officer of the 103rd Precinct has left his post in downtown Jamaica for the NYPD’s citywide School Safety Division.
Inspector Charles McEvoy hung up his hat at the 103rd when he was transferred March 14 to the Police Department’s School Safety Division, where he serves as executive officer.
The division has more than 5,000 school safety agents and 200 uniformed officers who oversee the city’s schools.
McEvoy previously served as the commanding officer at the 102nd Precinct in Richmond Hill and the executive officer of Brooklyn’s 79th Precinct.
