QUEENS VILLAGE — An off-duty NYPD sergeant was arrested and charged with assaulting another man in the confines of the 105th Precinct last Thursday, police said.
Faride Francklin, 43, allegedly informed the victim via text message that if he did not move all of his belongings out of an undisclosed location, he would throw them onto the street, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Queens district attorney’s office.
Francklin then allegedly broke the man’s door down, which was locked, and proceeded to wrestle with the man, pushing him around the room and causing lacerations to his finger and forearm, the complaint said.
The sergeant was charged with third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief and harassment, police said.
