Police are searching for two men in a green SUV who allegedly tried to abduct young girls in two separate incidents in Queens Village Wednesday afternoon, the NYPD said.
One man was described by authorities as black and the other Hispanic, and both are between the ages of 16 and 20, according to cops. The suspects were believed to be driving a dark-green Jeep Cherokee with a New York State license plate beginning with “74,” police said.
According to the authorities, the SUV slowly followed an 11-year-old girl as she walked home from school near 111th Avenue and 208th Street in Queens Village around 4 p.m.
At that point the black suspect allegedly got out of the SUV wearing a black mask and attempted to talk to the girl, who then ran away, police said.
Not long after, the Jeep drove up on two young girls walking about a dozen blocks away near 113th Avenue and 196th Street, police said.
From the driver seat, the Hispanic suspect allegedly passed a gun his accomplice, who pulled his mask down and got out of the vehicle, the NYPD said.
The two girls ran and hid behind a parked car as the suspects drove by, circled around and left, according to cops.
The NYPD was expected to release sketches of the suspects.
